TRIGONOMETRIC IDENTITIES

hey all...this week we learned about trigonometric identities.
There are 8 basic identities:-
(1) cscθ=1/sinθ (2) secθ=1/cosθ (3) cotθ=cosθ/sinθ (4) tanθ=sinθ/cosθ (5) cotθ=1/tanθ
(6)sin^2θ+cos^2θ=1 (7) 1+tan^2θ=sec^2θ (8) 1+cot^2θ=csc^2θ

Verifying identities means to prove that LHS=RHS
Method One-use the fundamental identities to change one side of the equation into the form of the other side.
Steps: 1) State side
2) Do the work-change info
3) State=other side
Method Two- use fundamental identities to change each side of the equation untill the same form is obtained on each side.once sides are equal state that LHS=RHS.
Example 1)Verify the identity cos α + sin α tan α = sec α.

Example 2)Verify the identity

i hope this blog will be helpful for all of you...i tried to keep it simple and easy :)
